Questions, answered
Do I need a go-ahead before I book?
Please ask your doctor or midwife first. They know your pregnancy; we do not diagnose and cannot judge whether massage suits you. If they say wait, we wait.
How do I lie down?
On your side, with a long pillow to hold, one under your belly and one between your knees. Your therapist builds the pillows up until you say it feels right.
Do I undress?
Only as far as you are comfortable. You are covered by a sheet the whole time, and only the part being worked on is uncovered.
When can I book after the birth?
When your provider says you can. Many people ask at the checkup after the birth. Tell us when you book, and we plan the visit around how you are feeling that day.
Can I change the pressure or stop?
Yes, at any time. Say lighter or firmer, ask to turn over, or stop, and your therapist does it right away.
What do your therapists use?
Their hands, with a plain oil or lotion if you want one. Tell us when you book if you would rather have none, or have an allergy.
Can I bring my baby to a postpartum visit?
Tell us when you book and we will plan around it. Massage here is for adults, so the baby needs a second adult with them while you are on the table.
How long is a session?
60, 75 or 90 minutes. Sixty minutes is the usual length for a first visit, and you can add 15 or 30 minutes when you book or on the day.
Which therapist should I choose?
Both Phoebe and Sooyeon have prenatal training and work the same way. Choose by who has an opening, or ask the desk.
Is there a deposit?
No. A card holds your time. A late cancellation or a missed visit is charged as the session; the booking page says so before you confirm.
